Nutravail operates out of a 60,000 square feet building in Chantilly, Virginia, just minutes away from Dulles International Airport and several major highways, including the Capital Beltway (I-495).
Nutravail’s facility includes offices, an analytical laboratory (including stability chambers), R&D laboratories (including a segregated gum laboratory), warehouse, and separate cGMP manufacturing areas for Uncooked Soft Chews, Spun Matrix Flakes and Flash Shear Beads.

Uncooked Soft Chews
Currently, Nutravail can produce and package approximately 1 Million chews per day under food/supplement cGMP conditions, and the Company has already invested in new equipment to increase that capacity with the new equipment expected to come on line in 2007. Additionally, Nutravail plans to commission Uncooked Soft Chew Lines in California in 2007. In order to better serve the diverse needs of its customers, Nutravail also plans to expand its end-packaging capabilities by adding stick pack and tub filling equipment to its manufacturing facilities.
Spun Matrix Flakes
Nutravail has several Jefferson Spin Heads of varying sizes and capacity that it uses to make its Spun Matrix Flakes. Its largest Jefferson Spin Head (20” in diameter) was custom built for Nutravail by Raytheon. This one-of-a-kind piece of equipment can produce up to 10 tons of Flakes per day. Nutravail has 7 other unique Spin Heads and intends to augment its multi-million dollar investment in this futuristic technology during 2007.
Flash Shear Beads
Nutravail’s Flash Shear Beads are made using a patented process that protects active ingredients and releases them over time. Flash Shear Beads are perfect for taste masking or providing a long-lasting flavor release. Flash Shear Beads can also protect many functional ingredients that are highly sensitive to heat or moisture. Nutravail’s Flash Shear Beads are currently used in many types of products, including beverages, chewing gum, bars, and soft chews. Nutravail’s Flash Shear Beads are also suitable for use in timed-release nutraceutical applications.
R&D Laboratories
Nutravail has several R&D labs where it can formulate new soft chews, chewing gums, and flake and bead applications, using its state-of-the-art pilot scale mixers, Jefferson Spin Heads, and tableting machines.
